Analytical department of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine announced this information.

Milk production continues to decline. 9 million 738 thousand tons of milk was produced in Ukraine for eleven months, it is 2.3% less than for the same period in 2015. Production of industrial milk added 1.3% (2 million 499.6 thousand tons). Milk from households went by 3.5% down (7 million 238.4 thousand tons).

Export trade slightly weakened this week. Sales of cheese products remain active. At the same time, we can observe decrease of milk powder. According to the results of 11-months-monitoring, export of Ukrainian dairy products amounted 100.9 thousand tons, it is 9.8% less than previous year. In money terms it is $148.8 mln (-11,9%). This slackness should be also expected during winter holidays.

National currency continues to crash in relation to dollar. Today 1 dollar costs 26.47 UAH (NBU), which is 0.16 UAH more than previous week.

The price for diesel gas oil hasn’t changed since previous week (20.66 UAH per liter).

According to the results of milk prices monitoring from December 21, average price for extra grade milk followed an upward trend, adding only 0.10 UAH — 9.10 UAH/kg. The average price for higher grade milk reached 8.55 UAH/kg, which is 0.23 UAH more than previous week. Grade I milk went 0.19 UAH up (8.16 UAH/kg).

Retail prices for milk on the shelves added 1.32 UAH/kg more — 22.13 UAH (milk with 3.2% fat content). Other whole milk group of products has not changed its prices.

Butter (82.5% fat content) and spread prices this week were stable — 156.4 UAH/kg and 66.3 UAH/kg respectively. At the same time, “Russian cheese” price went 0.37 UAH/kg down — 142.68 UAH/kg.
