Weekly milk and dairy products prices monitoring — July, 13
Extra Grade milk added in price 0.13 UAH this week.
Analytical department of Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine announced this information.
The price range for Extra Grade milk this week was fixed at the level of 7.50-8.24 UAH/kg (including VAT). The average price for this milk in Ukraine added 0.13 UAH/kg and crossed the line of 8 UAH/kg. The highest price range for this milk is still fixed in North region of Ukraine — 7.85-8.24 UAH/kg.
The average price for Higher Grade this week added another 0.07 UAH/kg to 7.74 UAH/kg. The most common price range is fixed at the level of 7.70-8.00 UAH/kg.
The average price for Grade I milk become higher by only 0.01 UAH — 7.43 UAH/kg. The lowest price for this grade of milk this week added 0.20 UAH to 7 UAH, and the maximum price has not changed.
According to the last data, milk production (all types) in Ukraine has dropped to the line of 5.058 mln tons (-0.8%). In addition, on July 1 the number of cows decreased to the level of 2 mln 136,3 ths heads, which is 2.5% less than a year ago.
The introduction of milk from the intervention stocks of EC on the dairy market has somewhat shaken the milk market. Respectively to this, prices for dairy products in Europe have also sifted. According to the latest quotations (12.07.2017), the price growth “touches” only butter (+0.5%) to 7,07 thousand dollars/t, which is the highest price for this product in the world. At the same time, SMP has also added in price by 4% (2.1 thousand dollars/t), and WMP — by 1.1%, to 3.6 thousand dollars.
In Oceania, prices continue to rise. In USA only butter had decreased in price (-2.2%, 5.7 thousand dollars/t).
Purchase prices for milk in these regions continue to grow. In particular, in the US 100 kg of milk costs $36.82 (+1.2%), Oceania — $35.21 (+1.8%), while in the EU — $37.11 (+2.1%).
