Ukrainian enterprises increased the share of Extra Grade milk in 2022
Despite the challenges of the ongoing russian-Ukrainian war, in 2022 the share of Extra Grade milk in the structure of milk submitted for processing from industrial dairy farms increased.
The analyst of the Association of Milk Producers Georgii Kukhaleishvili reports.
Indicators of safety and quality of milk sent for processing have been improved, despite the fact that during the past year the industrial sector worked in conditions of interruptions in the supply of electricity, water, deterioration of cow feeding, reduction of livestock, encountered logistical problems, felt a shortage of veterinary drugs and disinfectants due to disruption of supply chains.
So, last year, the share of Extra Grade in the overall structure of processing grew to 40.9% — 8.8% more Extra Grade milk was received for processing compared to 2021. Higher Grade milk accounted for 28.8% in processing and remained approximately at the same level as in 2021. However, the share of Grade I decreased to 27% (-8%), and of Grade II to 3.3%, which is 1% less than according to the results of 2021.
