Ukrainian corn export volumes could exceed 14 million tonnes by the end of this marketing year
Domestic corn export potential during the current marketing year was increased up to 14 million tonnes. It has been already exported more than 10 million tonnes of this crop. By the end of this marketing year it is expected to export 4.7 million tonnes of corn. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
«Currently, the situation at the domestic cereal market is stable. Therefore, due to the good world prices and sufficient internal grain balances we should unload domestic grain market. In particular, it is planned to increase the export of grain, primarily corn. Thus, in the current marketing year the corn supply to foreign markets could reach 14 million tonnes,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine said.
The Minister has also informed that Ukrainian farmers had exported 10.1 million tonnes of corn. By the end of the marketing year it may be exported 4.7 million tonnes more.
«Generally, by the end of the marketing year we could export about 6.6 million tonnes of grain more,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.
The Minister has informed that as of March 19, Ukraine had exported 19 million tonnes of grain. In particular, 6.2 million tonnes of wheat, more than 2 million tonnes of barley and 10.1 million tonnes of corn.
