Ukraine to realize grain exports adjusted for domestic needs – I.Shvaika

 

Grain exports from Ukraine will be realized only after specifying of the domestic requirements, including the needs of Ukrainian flour milling enterprises, and formation of the state reserves, declared Ihor Shvaika, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on October 1.

As of the reporting date, agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 14.682 mln ha, which lower compared with the index on the same date in 2013, due to the current situation in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts and excluding the Crimea. Also, I.Shvaika noted that the Ministry forecasts grain harvest in the current year at 64.421 mln tonnes, including 30 mln tonnes of maize.

As a reminder, previously the Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasted grain harvest at the level of 60 mln tonnes.
