Ukraine produced 38.47 mln tonnes of grains
As of October 16, 2012, Ukraine harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 13.14 mln ha, or 89% of the forecast. The produced volumes totaled 38.47 mln tonnes of grains with the average yield of 29.3 c/ha.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on the same date in 2011 agrarians produced 45.84 mln tonnes of grains throughout the areas of 13.56 mln ha with the yield of 33.8 c/ha.
In particular, on the reporting date of 2012 agrarians already completed harvesting buckwheat and millet.
Agrarians harvested maize throughout 2.89 mln ha (65%), and already produced 12.25 mln tonnes of the grain, the yield — 42.3 c/ha.
Ukraine harvested sunflower seed throughout of 4.58 mln ha (95%). The produced volumes totaled 7.52 mln tonnes, the yield — 16.4 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested 147.8 thsd tonnes of rice throughout the areas of 22.5 thsd ha (88%), with the average yield of 65.7 c/ha.
Also, agrarians harvested 1.84 mln tonnes of soybeans throughout the areas of 1.14 mln ha (79%) with the yield of 16.2 c/ha.
As of the reporting date, agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2013 throughout 7.25 mln ha (89% of the plan). In particular, Ukrainian agrarians planted winter wheat throughout 6.21 mln ha (94%), winter barley — 745.9 thsd ha (62%), winter rye — 299 thsd ha (97%).
