Ukraine is open to strengthen cooperation with EU in agricultural issues
European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Cioloş visits Ukraine at the beginning of the next year. The Commissioner and Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk agreed this visit during a phone conversation. At the meeting, the parties will discuss the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.
November 5, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk had a telephone conversation with the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Cioloş. The parties agreed on further plans in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, including the adaptation of Ukraine to the EU norms and regulations in the agricultural sector.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk invited Dacian Ciolos to visit Ukraine at the beginning of 2014. In his turn, Dacian Ciolos invited Mykola Prysyazhnyuk to participate in the meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Eastern Partnership states. The event will take place in January of 2014 in Chisinau with the participation of Commissioner Stefan Fule.
«We expect to have the European Commission support in the adaptation of Ukrainian norms and regulations to the EU. We are open to hold a dialogue and define the mutual interests,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk. Dacian Ciolos assured the Ukrainina side that the European Commission would provide financial and technical support as it had been agreed earlier.
