Ukraine is interested in expanding exports of agricultural products to the market of Israel

 

Ukraine is interested in expanding exports of agricultural products to the market of Israel, including livestock and poultry. Also, we are interested in establishing cooperation in science, technology and investments.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi during the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Minister of Environmental Protection of Israel, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and heritage, Head of the Israel Party of the Intergovernmental Commission Mr. Ze'ev Elkin in the framework of the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Ukrainian-Israel Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

According to Taras Kutovyi, the Ukrainian Party will make every effort to coordinate all the veterinary requirements for restoration of Ukrainian exports of table eggs to the Israel market.

«I hope that the joint meeting of the Ukraine-Israel Intergovernmental Commission will become a new powerful impetus for development of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Israel, and in particular in the field of agriculture. We're interested in expanding commodity nomenclature exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to Israel», — he said.

The parties also agreed to explore the possibilities of Ukrainian exports of beef to the Israel market.

From his side, Mr. Ze'ev Elkin said that the Israel Party is interested in establishing the supply of chilled meat from Ukraine.

Also during the meeting it was agreed on the forthcoming visit of Ukrainian delegation to the State of Israel.

In recent years Ukraine is a stable partner for Israel on exports of cereals. Ukraine annually supplies 30 to 40% of the overall needs of Israel in cereals. Last year the turnover of agricultural products amounted up to 403 million USD, the Ukrainian export reached 395 million USD, or nearly 68% of the total exports from the Ukraine to Israel.
