Ukraine increased the exports of grain by-products and flour to the EU — O.Pavlenko
During 9 months of 2015, Ukraine increased the export volumes of grain by-products to the EU by 7.5 mln USD (up 36.1%), flour milling products — up 3.9 mln USD (up 1.6 times), declared the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Oleksiy Pavlenko on November 5.
According to O.Pavlenko, grain crops (corn, wheat, barley, sorghum) formed the largest share in the structure of agricultural crops exports from Ukraine to the EU in the reporting period — 947.5 mln USD, food commodities from grains (spaghetti, macaroni, wafers, dry dough) — 28.4 mln USD.
Due to its climatic, soil and other conditions, Ukraine has the significant potential to increase production of high-quality commodities, especially grains. Despite the difficult, dry weather conditions in 2015, the general grain production is expected within 59-60 mln tonnes. Such results will completely satisfy the domestic requirements and food security of the country, as well as provide rather good potential for grain exports, said the Minister.
Also, O.Pavlenko said that in 2014-2015, Ukraine completely used the quotas for grain supply to the EU under the autonomous trade preferences at the level of 950 thsd tonnes.
