Ukraine: exports of butter to EU
Ukrainian producers have exported 2.3 thousand tonnes of butter while quota was set at 1.9 thousand tonnes. This is 26% of European external purchases.
Extra quota 400 tons of butter were sold for which import duties were paid. The European market accounted for 8% of total export of Ukrainian butter. The product was sold to The Netherlands as a b2b product – bulk butter, 82%.
As to the 2018 quota, according to CA FTA it was set as 2.1 thousand tons. There is a high probability to cover the quota, because the projected prices for butter in 2018 seem to keep an acceptable level for foreign trade. Exceeding the quota is possible in case of serious price fluctuations, as it was observed in the past year.
