Ukraine exported 942 thousand tons of wheat during the first 18 days of October
As of October 18, the actual export turnover is 7101 thousand tons: wheat exports is 3565 thousand tons (food wheat exports is 2896 thousand tons), maize exports is 2007 thousand tons and barley exports is 1437 thousand tons. However, it is contracted 11375 thousand tons of grain crops: 5416 thousand tons of wheat (4535 thousand tons of food wheat), 1972 thousand tons of barley, 3728 thousand tons of maize. This data was informed today by Ivan Bisyuk, the First Deputy to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on business meeting with corn traders.
The export turnover in September the current year is 1.3 million tons and during the first 18 days of October the export turnover is 942 thousand tons. As reported before, due to the results of business meetings with parties of Memorandum on the Agreement between Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and business entities, the grain exporters, the possibility of wheat export was increased.
According to Ivan Basyuk, during the last month Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is regularly hosting such consultations with all corn traders for discussion of export possibilities, counting this year harvest. Concerning the Memorandum, the initial amount of wheat export has been fixed nearly 4 million tons. It is noted that with the actual export of 80% from the turnover, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine warns in advance about possible restriction.
At the same time the wheat producing balance has been continually specified. It gives the possibility to raise export turnover, including wheat. Each month the export turnover is nearly 1.3 million tons of wheat, which is twice more than last year. So, to sum up, in 15-20 of November this year export opportunities of Ukraine, concerning wheat, can be depleted (nearly 5-5.3 million tons). In this regard corn traders were recommended to pay attention that as of October 19, 2012 the foreign contracts for wheat concluded at nearly 5.4 million tons. So, traders need carefully approach to extend contracts.
The detail analysis of world production dynamics, supply-and-demand situation of crops in leading world countries, changes in crops reserve, the ration of export and import items are necessary to generate the effective export policy, to predict the situation clearly, to maneuver own resources rationally and to increase the agrarian production. In such a way Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine plans to extend the crops export and the open dialogue with crop traders and wheat market participants.
