This year Ukraine plans to export 28 million tons of grain

Ukraine will be actively gaining the new markets for agricultural products. Thus, domestic grain should get into new markets in Eastern and South-East Asia, Middle East, North and Central Africa. Overall it is planned that grain exports may rise to 28 million tons. That was announced today during a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

«The countries of East and South-East Asia, Middle East, North and Central Africa are more and more in need of replenishment of the internal grain market by means of importing. And it should be Ukrainian grain. Therefore today Ukraine is aimed at confident and even aggressive policy on the global food market, especially in its grain segment», - said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

The Minister added that this year’s grain export possibilities may reach up to 28 million tons, among them — almost 9 million tons of wheat, 2.5 million tons of barley and more than 16 million tons of maize.

«I would like to note that gross production and the volume of external shipments of grain in the current grain year will be a record for Ukraine», — said the Minister.

Also the Head of department added that in July Ukraine exported about 1.2 million tons of grain. Transported to ports and being loaded on ships are about 1.4 million tons of grain.
