The share of industrial milk increased to 37.2%

 

In January 2017 the farms of all categories produced 577 thousand tons of milk, that is 0.2%, or 1 thousand tons less than during the same period in 2016. The share of industrial milk in the structure amounted to 37.2%, whereas in January 2015 it was at the level of 35.6%

Production of industrial milk over the analyzed period increased by 4.2% and amounted to 2014.5 thousand tons. Only three regions showed the reduction of the gross volume of production: Kharkov (5.8 thousand tons; - 6.9%), Odessa (2.6 thousand tons; -7,7%) and Lugansk (2.5 thousand tons; -8%) regions.

Households of population keep the trend of decline in production. In January they produced 362.5 thousand tons of milk, which is 2.6% less than for the analyzed period last year.

At the same time the number of cows on farms of all categories decreased by 2.2% — up to 2 million 2174.1 thousand heads. None of the regions could increase the number of cattle. At the agricultural enterprises the number of cows decreased by 4.1% to 484 thousand heads, and at the population — by 2.5% — up to 1 million 628,5 thousand.
