The quality of milk from dairy farms is steadily increasing — the results of the third quarter of 2021

 

The quality of industrial milk delivered for processing, according to the State Statistics Service, continues to improve.

This was reported by analyst of the Association of Milk Producers Yana Linetska.

Yes, the volume of extra grade milk for 9 months in 2021, it increased by 6.8% compared to the same period in 2020, and reached 716 thousand tons, which corresponds to 31.1% in the overall structure.

The volume of milk delivered for processing of the highest grade increased by 1.4% — to 658.8 thousand and is 28.6% in the overall structure.

Deliveries of the first grade decreased by almost a quarter — to 823.7 thousand tons (35.7% in the structure of deliveries for processing), and the second — by 15.2% - to 99.2 thousand tons (4.3% in total structure).

We remind you that according to the Order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine № 118 «On approval of requirements for safety and quality of milk and dairy products» (as amended from 24.12.2020), until 01.01.2024 provides for a gradual transition to food processing only «extra» milk (number of somatic cells (SCC) to 400 thousand / ml, the general bacterial pollution (BC) to 100 thousand / ml).

From 01.01.2023, only milk that meets the parameters of extra and higher grades (SCC up to 400 thousand / ml, BC up to 300 thousand / ml) will be allowed for food processing.

However, at SCC even at the level of 400 thousand / ml that corresponds to a grade «extra», the economy already does not receive milk, and consequently — and profits.
