As of the beginning of March, more than 30 thousand of farmers have applied for a grant for the preservation of more than 40 thousand heads of young cattle. The State has already sent 15.3 million UAH to farmers. Besides, farmers continue to apply for sold for slaughter cattle compensations, as well as individual milking machines purchase. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

«We can talk about the results of government livestock support programs in 2013. As of March 1, more than 30.7 thousand of people have applied and received grants for the preservation of more than 40.2 thousand heads of young cattle. I want to emphasize that more than 5.6 thousand of people have applied for grants for the first time. They have received compensations for 7.7 thousand heads of young cattle. The State has already given 15.3 million UAH,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.

The Minister has informed that in 2013 the State will continue to provide other programs to support farmers engaged in the animal husbandry. As of March 1, 540.74 thousand UAH of grants for sold for slaughter cattle were allocated. According to the Minister, just for a week 93 individuals applied to take part in the programme and they sold 124 heads of young stock.

In addition, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has pointed out that compensation for milking machines purchase will be prolonged. Thus, this year it has been allocated 234.2 thousand UAH. Over the last week 53 individuals applied to receive partial compensations for 53 purchased individual milking installations.
