The National bank does not know how agro-industrial complex works?
Among the reasons for the devaluation of the hryvnia the representative of the National bank of Ukraine calls «a seasonal decline in business activity in the agricultural sector».
This was reported by BusinessCensor with the reference to Deputy head of the NBU Oleg Churiy.
Such factors as seasonal slowdown in business activity, mainly in the agricultural sector, the presence of significant hryvnia liquidity of the companies-exporters that in December received a VAT refund of 16 billion UAH remain relevant.
He said that at the interbank market there is the predominance of demand for foreign currency over its supply under the influence of situational and seasonal factors.
Considering the aforementioned factors, the National bank continues to maintain its presence on the interbank currency market. Since the beginning of this year, the National bank carried out during the auctions, the net sale of foreign currency in the amount of $108,8 million to prevent excessive fluctuations in the exchange rate of the hryvnia," — said Churiy.
According to him, the lack of foreign currency revenues to accounts of Ukrainian banks yesterday affected the amount of the mandatory sale of foreign exchange earnings today.
