The balance of milk production and processing affected purchase prices

Purchase prices stabilized in the second half of June, as the production and processing of raw milk reached a balance. On the market, there are even prerequisites for the appearance of a shortage of milk in the near future, which may affect the further growth of purchase prices, — reports the analyst of the Association of Milk Producers, Georgy Kukhaleishvili.

The average purchase price of Extra Grade milk as of June 20 was 13.69 UAH/kg without VAT, which is 0.04 UAH less than a month ago. The price range for this grade in farms varies from 13.20 to 14.20 UAH/kg without VAT. The upper limit of the price range has not changed, and the lower limit has decreased by 0.20 UAH for the last month.

Higher Grade on average costs 13.69 UAH/kg without VAT (-0.04 UAH). Prices for Higher Grade range from 13.20 to 14.20 UAH/kg without VAT. Compared to the monitoring results of the second half of May, the lower limit of the price range decreased by 0.20 UAH, while the upper limit did not change.

The average price of Grade I milk was 12.95 UAH/kg without VAT, which is 0.10 UAH less compared to the price in the second half of May. The minimum price in farms was 12.65 UAH/kg, and the maximum price was 13.20 UAH/kg. The price range has not changed over the past month.

Accordingly, the weighted average price of three grades amounted to 13.44 UAH/kg without VAT, which is 0.06 UAH less than a month ago. Purchase prices have not changed compared to the monitoring results at the beginning of June.

Giorgiy Kukhaleishvili notes that purchase prices in Ukraine stabilized in the second half of June, as the production of raw milk and its processing entered the balance sheet. Surplus milk disappeared from the market. The main factor in price stabilization is the intensification of export activities of Ukrainian dairy companies.
