The abolishment of second grade milk will help Ukrainian processors

Аbolishment of second grade milk in Ukraine will help the local processors, who are experiencing a shortage of extra grade milk.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimtseva.

«In 2018 we won’t have milk of «second grade». I think this is the right decision. As today we observe reduction of extra grade raw materials on the Ukrainian market. Almost all milk processing companies in Ukraine complain about the lack of quality raw materials needed for the production of cheese or butter. Second grade has no future and it is already a thing of the past, and the decision on the abolition of the milk of the second grade will only accelerate this process», — annouced Trofimtseva.

The representative of the agrarian Ministry of Ukraine said that considers cooperation with Belarus in the dairy sector quite promising.

«In recent years we observe reduction of number of cattle and, consequently, decreased milk production. We have deficit situation on the market. The government and business are interested to reach large production volumes again. So we can only welcome the Belarusian partners if they work with us in Ukraine in this direction», — said Olga Trofimtseva.

During a meeting of the Ukrainian-Belarusian working group, which is being held in the Ministry of agriculture today, there will be also discussed issues of cooperation in trade, agricultural engineering, plant breeding, crop production.
