According to the forecast of APK-Inform analysts, in 2014/15 MY the production of sunflower oil in Ukraine will remain at rather high level, and total over 4 mln tonnes, which would be the second highest index after the record season-2013/14 (4.37 mln tonnes).

Also, in the new season the export volumes of the Ukrainian commodity will be quite impressive — 3.9 mln tonnes, which exceeds the average annual index for 5 recent years (3.2 mln tonnes), and is the second largest index after the record results of the current MY (4.2 mln tonnes). It is worth noting that the demand of the major countries-importers in the Ukrainian oil continues growing, and in the current season there is observed some realignment of forces. In particular, Spain outrun such significant importer as Turkey in the rating of the largest importers of the reporting commodity, and occupied the fifth position. In October-May Spain imported 126.4 thsd tonnes of Ukrainian sunflower oil, against 97.4 thsd tonnes in the same period of the previous year.

Also, analysts of APK-Inform Agency announced optimistic forecasts for sunflower oil production in Russia in 2014/15 MY — at the level of 3.7 mln tonnes, which exceeds the annual average index for 5 recent years (3.1 mln tonnes), and is the second largest after the record of 3.9 mln tonnes in the current season. The export volumes will be high — 1.35 mln tonnes, against the average annual index of 1.1 mln tonnes.
