State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service restricted the circulation of 8 tons of animal products
Over the last week the experts of State Veterinary Service in cooperation with the officers of veterinary police seized more than 8 tons of low-quality animal products. For this purpose the veterinaries checked 258 companies across Ukraine.
Measures to ensure stable epizootic situation and food security continued last week in all regions of Ukraine. Thus, mobile groups consisting of the State Veterinary Service professionals and veterinary police officers checked 258 objects the activities of which are connected with circulation of animal products. The work of 5 of them was suspended due to the detected violations.
In addition, the employees of veterinary police in cooperation with the State Traffic Police Service checked 304 vehicles during the transportation of animal products. In total, as a result of the inspections there were seized more than 8 tons of animal products, the quality and safety of which were not supported by relevant documents. There have also been charged penalties for the amount of almost 29 thousand UAH.
Earlier, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, repeatedly emphasized that the issue of quality and safety of food products coming to Ukraine is under his personal control.
