State Food Grain Corporation of Ukraine may supply nearly 250-300 thsd tonnes of soybeans to China
In 2013/14 MY PJSC State Food Grain Corporation of Ukraine can supply nearly 250-300 thsd tonnes of soybeans to China, declared Robert Brovdi, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Corporation.
He noted that in the current year the forecasted harvest of soybeans in Ukraine will total 2.8-2.9 mln tonnes, including nearly 1.5 mln tonnes to be subject for exports.
In the current marketing year the Corporation will exports nearly 250-300 thsd tonnes. To date the Corporation already purchased over 100 thsd tonnes of soybeans via forward contracts. Also, the company continues purchasing the oilseed on the spot market, which will result in a possibility of its exports, in particular in the direction of China, said R.Brovdi.
As a reminder, on September 3 Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, said that at the end of August 2013 Ukraine and China completed the certification procedure of Ukrainian agricultural crops — wheat, barley and soybeans, which gives the right to Ukraine to export these crops on the Chinese market.
State Food Grain Corporation of Ukraine was established by the Government in August 2010. It comprises an extensive network of branches — linear and port elevators, flour mills, mixed fodder plants and groats plants.
The complete storing capacity of 44 enterprises-branches of the Corporation total 3.46 mln tonnes of grains, including the annual shipment capacities for exports of Odessa and Nikolayev ports — 2.38 mln tonnes of grains.
