Souzmoloko recommends uniform prices for milk within the Customs Union
The National Dairy Producers Union (Souzmoloko) addressed CU members with a proposal to harmonize and set average indicative prices for all countries-members of CU, also to impose temporary protective duty on milk and dairy products.
Souzmoloko’s members are highly concerned about the milk purchase price decrease and its forecasted further drop in summer at the time when milk production cost has increased by 40%. This is according to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Dairy Producers Union Andrey Danilenko. Price disparity may lead to milk production and livestock population decrease in Russia, as well as productivity reduction.
The union also proposed to tighten counterfeit products import control and re-export of dairy products from countries under embargo, to increase penalties for counterfeit products production and to investigate the possibility of setting quotas on palm oil import to CU.
