Small farms will abandon the dairy business
The downward trend of milk production in Ukraine in 2017 will not be stopped.
This opinion was expressed by Director of the analytical agency "INFAGRO" Vasiliy Vintonyak.
At the same time, the expert notes, a significant drop is expected in households.
"Farms in general, demonstrate stability of milk yields, but only due to improvement of indicators of large operators. Many small inefficient farms will abandon dairy farming," he predicts.
The situation in the production of dairy products in this case will not change dramatically. But certain diversification in the choice of the range of products can occur. The priority, said Vasiliy Vintonyak, will be export-oriented commodity positions, primarily butter and milk powder.
These expectations are based on a forecast of rising world prices for dairy products.
