Russia lifted the ban on imports of cheese for two Ukrainian companies
On May 22, the Rosselkhoznadzor allowed imports of cheese, produced by two Ukrainian enterprises. According to Interfax News Agency, they are Gadyachsyr LLC and Lozovsky Dairy Plant.
Their products will be imported through the checkpoint Nekhoteyevka in the Belgorod region.
When importing cheese, the Rosselkhoznadzor will take samples to test the safety of components and identify the presence of any non-dairy elements. The chief of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert previously explained that supplies would be permitted, based on guarantees, provided by the Ukrainian State Vet Service.
Prior to the ban on imports, Ukraine supplied 60,000 tons of cheese to Russia per year. On July 4, 2014, Russia’s Rospotrebnadzor banned the import of dairy products of Milkiland-Ukraine: Mirgorod Cheese Factory, Chernigov Dairy Plant, a subsidiary of Slavutsky Butter Factory of PE CF Prometey, a branch of Lviv Dairy Plant of PE CF Prometey, a branch of Romensky Dairy Plant of PE Ros, a branch of Sumy Dairy Plant of PE Aromat, Agrolait Subsidiary. In early April, the Service banned the import of cheese of six Ukrainian companies: PE Ros, a branch of Akhtyrsky Cheese Factory, Pyryatynsky Cheese Factory JSC, Gadyachsyr LLC, Zolotonosha Butter Factory PSC, and Tekhmolprom LLC. On July 14, they added Lozovsky Dairy Plant to the list.
