After the spring reduction, the level of prices for raw milk seems to fix at the mark UAH 2.60 per kilogram for corporate sector. The average price for milk from individual producers is UAH 1.50 per liter. However, in the south of the country the prices keep growing because of competitive struggle for raw milk markets. In this region the prices range from UAH 1.70 to 1.85 per liter.

According to the National Committee of Statistics, during January - May 2010 in Ukraine total milk production accounted to 4,245.2 th. tons. In 2009, during the same period total milk production was 4,307.8 th. tons.

Currently in Ukraine, most milk, nearly 78%, is produced by household plot owners and the rest of the product – by farms. In 2009, the milk produced by household plot owners amounted to 80% of total production.
