Ratings of exporters of dairy products in 2016

 

Ukrainian producers exported 109.3 thousand tons of dairy products in 2016, which is 9% less than in 2015. As reported by the Analytical Department of the Council for food exports (UFEB), the main exports last year was milk and condensed cream (48%), butter (11%) and cheese (7%).

Export of condensed milk and cream in 2016 reduced compared to 2015 by 12% to 51.9 thousand tons. Most of these products were supplied abroad by "Vinnitsa dairy plant "Roshen" (14% of the total), "Ichnia dairy plant" (13%), "Transport-dispatch enterprise "Vertical" (10%), "Belaya Tserkov agroindustrial group" (7%) and "Ovruch dairy canning plant" (6%).

At the same time, the supply of butter abroad increased by 2.6% and amounted to 12.1 thousand tons. The main drivers of exports of this product in the past year were "Vinnitsa dairy plant "Roshen" (23% of the total), "Agroprodeksport" (11%), "Domenik" (9%), "Starokonstantinov dairy plant" (6%), “Adamas” (6%).

As for the cheese, the export of this item fell by 26% compared to 2015, amounting to 8,1 thousand tons. TOP 5 Ukrainian exporters of cheese at the end of last year included: "KOMO – Export" (27%), subsidiary enterprise "Laktalis-Ukraine" (16%), "Cheese Club" (12%), "Bel Shostka Ukraine" (9%), "Milkiland-Ukraine" (7%).

The main importers of Ukrainian dairy products last year were the countries of the CIS and some Asian countries. The rating of the ten largest importers of domestic dairy products is as follows: Kazakhstan (16%), Moldova (13%), Turkmenistan (8%), Georgia (7%), Pakistan (5%), Armenia, Vietnam and Bangladesh (4% each), China and Egypt (3% each).
