Prysyazhnyuk told the President how to achieve prosperity in rural areas
Last year the Ministry of the Agrarian Policy and Food presented the initiative «Native village», which should create comfortable socio-economic living conditions in rural areas. For that purpose the department has implemented a number of government programs aimed at supporting of farms and the development of cooperatives. This type of entity that proved its efficiency in the world was supported by over 9 thousand rural leaders who participated in the survey organized by the Ministry of the Agrarian Policy. Therefore, drawing on international experience and the wishes of rural people, the Ministry promises to stimulate further the development of cooperation which will lead to prosperity of Ukrainian village. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, told that to the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, during the opening of exhibition «AGRO- 2013».
«Implementing the instruction of the President to create comfortable living conditions in rural areas, the Ministry of the Agrarian Policy developed a strategic initiative „Native Village“. It provides a number of economic and social initiatives which should make Ukrainian village prosperous and its people — wealthy. Since these are rural people and farmers who provide more than 55% of agricultural production. However, the market economy dictates its own conditions that require the amalgamation of farms into cooperatives. And that, as already proven by international experience, increases work efficiency and enables farmers to live prosperously, »- said the Minister.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk stressed that the idea of creating a network of cooperatives was supported by leaders of rural communities which participated in the survey organized by the Ministry of the Agrarian Policy. That is more than 9 thousand village councils expressed their willingness to work in cooperatives. And for people to organize this kind of management easier, they are provided with advice in specially created regional centers of rural development.
«To provide practical and advice support to universities affiliated to the Ministry there were established regional centers of rural development. Seminars and workshops involving village heads are being held on their basis. Investment projects are also being developed», — stated the head of the Ministry.
