Overview of import of agricultural products from the EU in January 2017

 

According to the State fiscal service, in January 2017, compared to the same period in 2016, there is an increase of exports of agricultural products by 53.6% to 1.4 billion USD and reducing of imports by 16% to 0,3 billion USD.

Import of live animals (cattle) is 85% less than for the same period last year. The largest country-importer of frozen cattle meat is Lithuania, with a share of 60%. In general import in this category grew by 30%.

One can note the rise of total import in all categories of dairy products. Supplies from Belgium, Germany and Poland increased greatly. The volume of import of cheese increased by 52% compared to January 2016. The share of EU countries in the structure of import also increased, especially the supply from Poland.
