Over 2.5 thousand farmers took bank loans
Domestic farmers take more credits. Thus, as of the beginning of November, they have used 13 billion UAH of credits. This 3 billion more than the last year. In general, this year 2.6 thousand farms and farmers used bank loans. To make the credits more accessible the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food continues its work with banks and other financial institutions. It was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
«The financial support for the farmers is an important issue. Therefore, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine promotes lending to farmers by the order of the President of Ukraine. In particular, the Ministry is working out the ways to facilitate the mechanisms of the credit resources attraction,» said the Minister. According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the local farmers take more credit. Thus, since the beginning of 2013 farmers have received 13 billion UAH of loans that is 3 billion more against the last year. Thus, farmers have taken 8.1 billion UAH of short-term loans, almost 2.2 billion of medium and 2.7 billion of long-term ones. A significant proportion of these funds is used to provide autumn field works that are currently almost completed.
«To hold autumn field works farmers have taken 2.7 billion UAH of bank loans. Although the works are almost completed, farmers need working capital for storage and transportation of crops, preparing for the spring sowing campaign. The Land Bank starts its work to provide farmers with loans at lower rates. This is especially important for the medium and small producers,» said the Head of the Department .
