Main fields of production are plant growing and livestock farming. The farm is cultivating 15 ths. hectares of land, where they grow grain crops (wheat, barley and oats), oil crops (sunflower) and forage crops (corn for silage, pea, perennial and annual grasses). They run dairy and pig farms, also do fishing. Bred horses, ostriches, sheep. Have own apiary.

Total herd size is more than 2000 heads, and 1050 — cows of Holstein Simmental breed (red-and-white).

Average daily milk yield is 25−26 kg/forage cow. Cows are milked three times per day on the Rotary parlour for 36 stalls (GЕА). Milk is stored in two tanks, 18 tons each. Every day farm produces 30 tons of Extra Grade milk, which is supplied to Kupyansk dairy plant.

Cows are kept in the herd 5 lactations.

Cows are dried off gradually: first they are transferred into the separate group and fed with only straw; first day they are milked three times, second day — twice a day, and last day — only once. Than all cows are checked for mastitis and their udder is sealed. After calving they let cow to lick its calf. They have noticed, that these calves develop better and faster.

In the maternity pan calves are kept in individual cages for the first 4 days of life. On the 5th day, they are transferred to the calf pan. Calve should drink 2 portions of colostrum. First portion is get from mother, if only it is of good quality. Second portion of thawed colostrum is given 6−7 hours after birth.

First 4−5 days of live calves are fed with 2 liters of pasteurized whole milk three times a day. During the pre-weaning period (about 57 days) calf drinks on average 325 liters of milk. Water, hay and mixed feed they get on the 5th day of birth. After 62 days calves are transferred into groups. Calves are dehorned till the age of 2 months — from 45th to 60th day.

The average daily weigh gain is 870−890 g. Heifers are inseminated at the age of 13−14 months.

Feeding — total mixed ration, starting from May — with the addition of green mass. Milking cows are subdivided into two technological groups: milking out, productive, low-productive (sixth-seventh month before drying off). Each group has its special ration. Cows of early and late (2−3 weeks before calving) drying off period also get different diets.

Highly-productive cows get 54 kg of feed per day. Feed is distributed twice a day, in summer — three times a day.

To control the daily intake of water, owners installed the water counter.
