Ministry of Agriculture lowered the forecast of grain production to 90-92 mln tonnes
The Ministry of Agriculture forecasts the general grain harvest in the Russian Federation in 2013 at the level of 90-92 mln tonnes, but did not rule out that the actual volume of production may reach 95 mln tonnes, if agrarians no longer hide some part of the harvest from the official statistics, announced Nikolai Fedorov, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
N.Fedorov noted that the initial conditions as of the beginning of the planting campaign were the best during recent five years, due to the state support per hectare.
N.Fedorov also noted that in August-September the Government may begin purchasing interventions on the grain market. Their volumes will depend on results of the harvest.
