Milk production is increasing in Ukraine
Domestic farmers continue to increase milk production. Thus, in January-April 2013 it was produced by 1% or 26.7 thousand tons of milk more against last year. In general, all categories of farms produced more than 3 million tons of this product. In turn, the state provides small and medium-sized enterprises with support, in particular it pays them compensations. This was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
«Both agricultural enterprises and farm coopertives increase milk production. The most part of the production is made by farm cooperatives. In particular, in January-April they produced almost 2.3 million tons, that is 7.8 thousand tons more than last year. State compensations contributad this a lot. At the same time, agricultural enterprises increased milk production by 2.4% and they have produced 803 million tons», the Minister said.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has said that in general, in January-April of this year domestic farmers had produced more than 3 million tons of milk. This 26.7 thousand more compared to the same period in 2012.
«It is important that using the state support farmers are more interested in cattle keep. However, milk production is increased due to developed productivity of the dairy herd. Thus, it was increased by 4.1% at agricultural enterprises», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
