In September 2011, Ukraine has produced 1,013.7 thousand tons of milk, 187 thousand tons of which are from agricultural enterprises and 826.1 thousand tons from private households. Compared with August this year milk production by all categories of enterprises decreased by 10.7%. Compared with September 2010, milk production decreased by 1.2%, its overall production amounted 1026.5 thousand tons.

September 1 this year, agricultural enterprises amounted 582.6 thousand cows, which is 1.6% less than the same period last year (592.2 thousand units). On the same date, private enterprises held 2057.8 thousand cows, which is 4% less than in 2010 (2144.4 thousand cows).
