Mexico and Denmark: cooperation in the agrifood sector

The matters related to the technical cooperation and the exchange of experiences in the electronic certification of livestock products were addressed.

The governments of Mexico and Denmark agreed on strengthening the scientific and technical cooperation in agrifood matters, as well as promoting the commercial exchange of agriculture and livestock products and developing investment and joint investment mechanisms between both nations, as part of the market diversification strategy led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), Mr José Calzada Rovirosa.

The matters related to the technical cooperation and the exchange of experiences in the processes of electronic certification of livestock products, and cattle and pig agroindustry traceability systems (a sector in which Denmark is an important producer and processer of meat and meat products), were addressed.

With the representation of the Minister of Agriculture, Mr José Calzada Rovirosa; and the general coordinator of Foreign Matters, Mr Raúl Urteaga Trani, the interest of both countries for expanding the business opportunities and the market niches in a stage in which the Mexican government points towards the diversification of the agrifood products trade stood out.
