With the aim of promoting the development of cattle herd, increasing milk and meat production in the region the "Program of development of dairy cattle breeding in the agricultural enterprises and agricultural service cooperatives in Zaporozhye region 2014-2018" is being implemented at the moment.

Funds from the General Fund of the regional budget in the amount of 1 million UAH, 5 thousand UAH per extra milking cow, are annually allocated for the implementation of the program. For increasing the number of cows in 2016, the agricultural enterprises received 635 thousand UAH.

Also at JSC "Breeding factory "Stepnoy" of Kamenka-Dneprovskaya district the construction of a barn for 560 heads is being completed. In LLC AF "Niva" they finished reconstruction of milking parlour, purchased and installed milking equipment "Bratslavschanka" of domestic production.

"In the framework of the project "Partnership for innovation "The Development of family farms, united in agricultural service cooperatives", implemented by the International charitable Fund "Wellbeing of communities" in cooperation with the company "Danone" in Ukraine there were opened two family dairy mini-farms for 40 heads on the territory of Tokmak district", — stated in the message. 

Over the last five years 10 family dairy mini-farms were reconstructed and built in the region. The total value of implemented investment projects at the expense of own funds amounted to UAH 10.5 million, additionally 47 new jobs were created in rural area.
