In Ukraine the number of cattle increase by 3.3%
Since the beginning of the year the number of cattle in Ukraine has grown by 3.3%. There also stays a positive dynamics in the production of milk. Therefore, the state will continue to support programs of the sector which contribute to its development. This was informed by the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
«Animal farming industry remains in priorities of the state policy. Thus, the initiated programs of its support have helped to revive the industry. However, we realize that we can not stop there. Therefore we will work on improving the existing support programs for individual farmers as well as, according to the Program of economy activation, will promote construction and reconstruction of large livestock breeding complexes, »- said the Minister.
The Head of the department added that this approach has helped to increase the number of cattle. Thus, from the beginning of the year in all categories of farms the number of cattle increased by 3.3%. According to the Minister, the positive thing is also that the number of cattle at the households of the population has increased — by 5.2%. This was achieved due to the activities of state support.
«Today in Ukraine there continue to operate subsidies for maintenance and preservation of young cattle. It helps to increase livestock. And budgetary aid for the purchase of milking machines improves the quality of milk, and hence — its purchase price. At the same time, I want to remind you that this summer in Ukraine there was no seasonal price decrease on milk », - said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
