Grain Traders and Ministry of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine are going to sign a Memorandum on 2013/2014 marketing year

 

Ministry of Agriculture and Grain Traders are going to prolong the Memorandum of Understanding on the 2013/2014 marketing year concerning export grain harmonization. Currently, the sides finish working the conditions. It is expected that the Memorandum may be signed in the nearest future. This and a number of other issues were discussed by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

«We have found an effective form of cooperation with commercial grain market, particularly in the export. Therefore, in the nearest future we will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on 2013/2014 marketing year. Of course, we will work it up together» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.

The Minister has added that the Ministry continues to improve the regulatory framework to facilitate certification of grain and create favorable conditions during grain warehouse receipts usage.

Business representatives have stressed that the Memorandum clearly regulates interaction of the Ministry of Agriculture with representatives of the grain market of Ukraine. They expressed their readiness to cooperate with the agency and offered to work up the Memorandum.

«One of the greatest achievements in the history of cooperation between the private sector and the Ministry of Agriculture is a Memorandum of Understanding concerning export crops coordination. We would like to discuss the possibility of its extension for the 2013/2014 marketing year», Jorge Zukoski, the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine said.

Besides, the participants have discussed a number of legal aspects relating to the grain market, quality and food safety, special tax regimes, import-export operations. The sides have also discussed the issues concerning milk cooperative support programs.
