Grain prices may be raised – N.Prysyazhnyuk

 

On July 23, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine hosted a meeting with operators of the grain market on stabilizing of the grain prices, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The Minister said that the authorities and grain traders agreed to raise grain purchasing prices by 7-8%, or up 100-150 UAH/t in the coming week.

At the same time, Ukrainian Grain Association informed that its members — grain trading companies did not reach any agreements with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on increasing of the purchasing prices, declared Vladimir Klimenko, President of the Association, on July 23.

According to him, any agreement on prices contradict to the Ukrainian legislation. V.Klimenko said that traders purchase grains at the prices dictated by the world market, and they can not operate at a loss.
