First in the Ukrainian History Dairy producers and processors united for solving the problems of the industry
It happened during the IV Ukrainian Dairy Congress, which at least for a day, but still turned Kyiv into the world capital for milkmen, and “Ukrainsky Dim” — into their “White House”. The evidence that Congress was the largest event of dairy sector in Ukraine was about 600 participants who were the leading managers and dairy processing enterprises of our country and the world’s best known technologists, managers, veterinarians.
The President of the Ukrainian Dairy Association Andriy Dykun spoke about global trends in dairy cattle breeding and Ukraine's place in the dairy market. Also he told about the achievements of the Association since the previous Congress.
The Chairman of the Ukrainian Dairy Enterprises Union Vadym Chaharovskyy clarified the critical issue of the state and prospects of the Ukrainian dairy industry under the conditions of economic crisis.
The Chairman of the National Union of Russian Dairy producers Andrey Danilenko emphasized on the role of producers and processors’ integration.
Determinative thesis that were heard during the Congress: Ukraine is able to produce qualitative milk products, but not the surrogates fro palm oil; we already have enterprises that get 8 tons of milk instead of 3 tons, that they got recently; producers and processors together are able to form appropriate for both sides purchase prices and, what is the most important — the purchase price for finished products suitable for domestic consumers.
Five sections worked during the Congress: Dairy Business Analytics; Management and Finances; Milk Production Technologies; Dairy Farms’ History of Success. Also during the Congress VIP-seminar “Resource possibilities for processors” was held
On the second day of the Congress all the members were able to secure in practice their theoretical knowledge: they got the opportunity to visit farms, which in 2010 achieved good results — in particular Ltd. “Mayak” and “Shevchenko”.
Guests and journalists who were present on the Congress got not only a lot of interesting facts, but made completely unexpected discoveries: dairy cattle breeding is one of the few professions that doesn’t know holidays or weekends. But it is the milk that helps Ukrainian children growing up as future geniuses of science, culture and sport.
