"Today, "First dairy cooperative" has two activities — it unites small farms for selling milk as a trader and negotiates with milk processors on behalf of the households-members of APM" — said Elena Zhupinas, coordinator of LLC "First dairy cooperative". 

"We collect milk at small farms, up to 6 tons of milk, and sell the whole volume of milk. This gives us the ability to sell milk to a processor at a single price regardless of its quantity. So, since 01.10.2016 till 01.12.2016 we can trace the growth of prices for the received milk on the farms, which are united in the "First dairy cooperative," says Elena Zhupinas. 

Ukrainian farmers have long been ready to join the cooperative. For example, the Director of private agricultural enterprise "Peskovskoe" Valeriy Kolosha has no doubt that the dairy cooperation is the ability to overcome the crisis in the industry.

Yet, according to the current law on cooperatives legal entity cannot create production cooperatives. "Therefore, AVM together with VAR made changes to the bill. And we hope that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at the end of the first — at the beginning of the second quarter of 2017 will vote for changes in the bill. And then the LLC “First dairy cooperative” will be able to function as the first milk cooperative" — says Elena Zhupinas.

"The next step will be the building of accumulation center on the basis of Uman dairy plant," — shares the plans for the future Mrs. Zhupinas.
