Farmers have bought 12,000 units of agricultural machines since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian farmers have acquired more than 12,000 machines. This is 25% more against the same period of the last year. State leasing programs contributed this. The Economic Development Program for 2013-2014 provides nearly 1.3 billion for them. It was announced by Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.

«Today, Ukraine continues active upgrading of agricultural machinery as autumn field works are in the active phase. Besides, we expect high yield and should avoid all losses during the harvest. Thus, since the beginning of this year, domestic farmers have acquired more than 12,000 units of agricultural machinery. This is 25% more against the same period of the last year,» said the Minister.
In particular, farmers have bought 2.3 thousand tractors, 1.3 thousand tillage equipment, nearly 900 seeding machines, 512 combine harvesters, etc. The Minister also pointed out that nearly half of the acquired units are of domestic production. This figure will increase. Currently, Ukrainian enterprises produce agricultural machines together with foreign producers under investment projects.
«We should also encourage Ukrainian farmers — buyers of the machines. There are special leasing programs for this purpose. Thus, the Economic Development Program for 2013-2014 provides nearly 1.3 billion to purchase nearly 4 thousand vehicles of domestic production,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk .
