Export tax reduction will return interest of beef production
Cabinet of Ministers supported the initiative of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food concerning maximum export tax reduction of live cattle and hides. Thus, the rate will go down from 25% to 5%. According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, such changes approval will increase the economic interest of the production of beef and increase its export.
«To support the livestock industry and domestic producer, yesterday it was supported the initiative to reduce live cattle and hides export tax from 25% to 5%,» said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.
According to the Minister, these changes should contribute to make this industry profitable. Thus, producers will export their products and get benefits.
«Export duty caused fewer supplies of products abroad because the prices did not cover the costs of its production. Thus, they were not interested in it. Now the situation can change greatly,» said the Minister.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk stresses that in the future beef can be a major export product because domestic agricultural production is in a great demand with global markets, due to its high quality and safety.
«I am convinced that export tax reduction will increase economic interest in beef production and its export, as well as incomes to the state budget,» said the Minister.
