European Commission keeps on inspecting Ukrainian dairy producers

European Commission keeps on inspecting Ukrainian dairy producers. Commissioners are worried because of veterinary-sanitary inspection of the production of raw milk and dairy products. Ukraine will be able to export its production into EU if it undergoes the inspection procedure successfully.
Currently, Euro Commissioners are working at the dairy processing plants in Sumy region. They are also planning to visit some enterprises of Rivne, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.

The Commission considers that Ukraine produces a rather small amount of raw milk of good quality. Only 20% of milk produced meets quality specifications. At the end of their visit — September 18 — the Commissioners will make the resume if Europe is ready to drink Ukrainian milk.
The situation was commented by the analyst of dairy market Olga Mozgova: «It’s a pity, but our production can occupy a very small segment of European market. And we must have a real view on this situation. Our share will be less than 1%, but we must do this — we must enter European markets.»
