Dairy cattle: livestock decreases, yield goes up!

 

In November this year, the volume of milk production significantly decreased and amounted to 772 thousand tons, which is 18.5% less than in October. The part of milk produced by agricultural enterprises is 21% or 163.8 thousand tons, private households produced 608.2 thousand tons, respectively.

In January-November milk production by all categories of farms decreased by 189.5 thousand tons or by 1.8%. It should be noted that milk production increased in agricultural enterprises by 2.7 tons (0.1%), and in private households it decreased by 192.2 thousand tons (2.3%).

In November 2011, the livestock decreased by 6.1 thousand heads at agricultural enterprises and 55.2 thousand heads —at private households. However, a positive dynamics of growth of dairy cattle productivity at agricultural enterprises is noticed, in January-November this year it increased by 88 kg and averaged 3,802 kg per cow per year. While the average daily gain of cattle increased by 22 grams and is 477.0 grams.

During last week the price for cattle meat increased by 58 UAH and reached 16,404 UAH/t. The price for first class milk increased by 21 UAH and amounted 3,781 UAH/t, second class milk (from population) increased by 2 UAH and amounted 2,799 UAH/t.
