The farm is engaged in crop production and livestock breeding. Have 7,5 thousand hectares of arrable land.
In the field of crop production work in two directions: the production of commodity grain (wheat, barley, rye, corn, soybean, sunflower, flax, mustard, rape, etc.) and seed material.
In the field of livestock breeding also develop two areas: the production of commodity livestock products (milk, meat, wool) and breeding work.
Enterprise operates three breeding plants for breeding cattle of the southern type of Ukrainian black-and-white breed, southern meat breeds and Tauride-type sheep of the Askanian fine-breed.
Total herd size is 1,850 heads, including 570 dairy cows. Breed — black-and-white dairy southern type.
Milk is produced on two farms. One unit has tied housing system and cows are milked in milk pipelines. On the second one — loose housing system. Milking cows are kept in two reconstructed barns. For better ventilation of the barns fans are placed. Cows are milked in reconstructed milking parlour «herringbone» 2×10 (DeLaval). There are two operators in the shift.
Milking is three times per day. According to the results of 2017, they had 8400 kg of milk per cow. Somatic cells count is up to 200 thousand per cubic cm, bacterial contamination is up to 150 thousand per cubic cm.
Cooling tanks are designed for 20 tons of milk. Milk is sold at «Bashtanka cheese factory».
There are four diets at the farm: for high and low producing cows, for early and late dry off cows. The diet of milking cows consists of corn silage, alfalfa haylage, hay and concentrates.
Cows in heat are detected visually. If necessary, the correction of the reproduction function is used.
Milk calves are kept in individual cells for the first two months of life. They drink whole milk thrice a day according to the scheme: 2 l in the morning and evening, 1 l in the afternoon. Calves are weaned gradually, within 10 days, depending on the consumption of feed. Calves have constant access to water, feed mix (own production) and hay.
After weaning, the calves are grouped.
