«Rural territories development is the priority of 2013. This statement was often emphasized by the President. It is necessary to revive the welfare of the peasants by motivating them to produce agricultural production. In fact, farm cooperatives produce 76% of beef, 56% of pork, 18% of poultry and 78% of milk. Cooperatives remain one of the most effective labour mechanisms in rural areas. Today, there are 851 cooperatives in Ukraine», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk mentioned.
The Minister has stressed that the state will stimulate the creation of cooperatives in animal, horticulture and berry industries, forage purchase, harvest, primary processing and sale of production. Currently there is a need to create 12176 cooperatives including almost 2200 of processing and 9770 of operating ones. Cooperatives will provide the full circle of animal, horticulture and fishing production.
«Creation of a cooperative of the full production circle will enable to increase the added value through enhanced volumes of animal products processing, which will create new work places and reduce the price of production due to its sale directly at the place of production», Mykola Prysyazhnyuk emphasized.
Mykola Prysyazhnyuk has also mentioned that the state support payments for the young cattle keep; compensations for milking machines expenses and animal sale stimulation into processing farms are the important motivation for farmers to create cooperatives.
