Milk Production, volume of raw milk
The volume of commercial milk production in the CIS countries amounted to 25.9 million tons in January-August

 

In January-August 2019, the volume of raw milk production in the CIS countries amounted to 40.4 million tons, which is 0.6% more than in the corresponding period of 2018, says the report of the Dairy Intelligence Agency (DIA).

Milk production in Armenia (-4.7%), Belarus (-0.3%), Moldova (-7.8%) and Ukraine (-3.5%) decreased compared to January-August 2018. Production growth was observed in Azerbaijan (+1.5%), Kazakhstan (+3.2%), Kyrgyzstan (+2.4%), Uzbekistan (+2%) and Tajikistan (+2%). If we consider only commercial milk, the volume of production in the CIS countries in January-August 2019 amounted to 25.9 million tons, the share of commercial milk in the CIS market reaches 64.5%. In Russia, DIA takes into account only commercial milk, for the eight months of 2019, peasant farm holdings and agricultural organizations produced 12.9 million tons.
