The price of butter will not grow, but there are no reasons for the price drop either

In February there was no clear price trend in the market of butter in Ukraine.

Traders are not yet ready to raise prices for Ukrainian butter reasoning this with the price in Europe and availability of the alternative cheaper offers to Africa from other exporting countries, mainly from India. Therefore, prices are very different. Some traders sell butter at 4200 USD/t, other are ready to sell it at 3800 USD/t. This is exactly how traders value Ukrainian butter for African supplies.

The price range in the domestic market is also quite wide. «Krestyanskoe» butter is sold at 112−117 thousand UAH/t, 82% butter at 127−137 thousand UAH/t.

It is quite difficult to predict prices for March. Most likely, there will be no growth, but there are also no reasons for reducing the price either.

Reduction of the price of butter is also connected with the shrunk output of cheese product. Last month there were produced about 6.1 thousand tons of butter, 8% less compared with the same month last year. In February, production of butter will further decrease. But it should also be noted that many operators still have quite big reserves of butter and this is what affects the price situation.
