Souzmoloko proposes to spend 61.7 billion rubles for dairy farming efficiency improvement
Recently the dairy farming efficiency improvement programme prepared by Souzmoloko was discussed in the RF Ministry of Agriculture. The document’s authors estimate the average volume of financing needed for programme implementation at 61.7 billion rubles.
According to the experts, the sector depends on imports due to a number of problems. Among them - shortage or low quality of local breeding materials, outdated assessment system of cattle and genetic materials breeding value, absence of single system of cattle identification and single database of breeding animals, lack of integration with international breeding value assessment systems, etc.
The document authors believe that the programme implementation will solve most of these problems and will allow Russia to improve food supply security and increase Russian breeding products’ competitiveness on the global market.
