More than 1000 cattle heads infected with brucellosis revealed in West Kazakhstan

More than 1000 cattle heads infected with brucellosis have been revealed in East Kazakhstan region, said Kazbek Kashimov, head of regional veterinary department.

"More than a thousand of cattle heads infected with brucellosis have been revealed in the time of planned examination in West Kazakhstan region," he said.

He marked "the size of sick cattle is going down every year".

"For instance the index was 1.8% in 2014, it was 1.4% in 2015, last year it was a little higher than 1 percent," he said.
He said some farmers do not put the cattle on the register, as a result one sick head can infect dozens of others.

"We take the blood tests in spring and autumn. The cattle sick with brucellosis goes for slaughter," he said.
